Structure
Our competition is divided into four distinct sections based on:
A: Age (Participant's age)
B: Era (Period of the work)
C: Theme (Specific themes)
D: Performance grades (Exam grade levels)
Participants are welcome to enter multiple categories. The categories are structured to allow a variety of composers beyond just Clementi. For instance, in the “Sonata” category, you may choose a sonata by Beethoven, while in the “Etude” category, you can submit an etude by Chopin. This flexibility applies across all categories.
In each category, you will be competing against other participants who have registered for the same category, so the level of difficulty in winning will depend on the overall pool of competitors.
Age Categories
These are the most frequently entered categories, determined solely by the participant's age, without any restrictions on repertoire, genre, or style.
The age group is based on the participant's age as of three months before the registration deadline.
For instance, if you are 17 years old three months before the season’s deadline, you should select the 14-17 age group.
Note: Younger participants are permitted to register for older age groups if they wish to challenge themselves by competing against older participants. However, older participants are not permitted to enter younger age categories.
